I have always watched American Idol and have been a big fan since they started back from season one. This season I really have to say that Crystal Bowersox is one of my favorites that I have ever seen on the show, even though Big Mike Lynch is up there too and being that he is from my home town of Saint Petersburg, Florida, that I should be rooting for him all the way. But I have to say Lee Wyze in his first performance of the top four in American Idol 2010, did not do really well in his solo, but sure as hell shined in the duet with Crystal Bowersox, when they performed the song ‘falling slowly‘ by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova from the movie “Once“.

This has to be the best performance that I have seen all season. I am pretty sure that the pretty boy will be knocked out of the top four after choosing his song “mrs. robinson”, although his duet was good also with big mike from saint petersburg, Florida, but really do not think it can hold a candle to the duet with crystal bowersox and lee wyze, which was just more than breathtaking in my opinion. If you had heard the motion soundtrack or even seen the trailer for the movie once, I think that the duet that we all heard tonight was ten times better than the original.

I also think that this is going to advance Lee Wyze into the top three, it is pretty obvious that Crystal Bowersox and Michael Lynch have secured a spot in the top three in my opinion. I have been telling everyone that they are going to be the final two and I wish that both of them could be winners. I am sure that many would agree with me on that too. I am still trying to get through the damn phone lines to vote, shit seems to take forever.

Well from my point of view anyway. By the way, happy 4-20 everybody. I am no professional sports analisyst or anything, nor can I even spell the word right, but the sweep over the Boston Red Sox at Boston was pretty darn impressive if you ask me. The most disappointing part of the Rays season so far has to be losing the series against those god damn Yankees. But you have to expect that and cannot expect to win every series you play against them, especially when they have more than double the budget of any major league baseball team, which I think is bullshit.

So now I am just sitting back drinking on a bacardi and pepsi, about to watch the Rays vs the White Sox, and hopefully it will be a really good game. I really expect the Rays to go the distance this year like they did a couple of years ago. I feel pretty confident we will be able to handle Boston again, although it is still really early in the season and there is a lot of major league baseball to be played still.

I am also excited about seeing David Price start tonight against the White Sox, I think that so far he has really improved in his pitching while he is starting 3-0. and hopefully that he can extend that win streak and extend the Tampa Bay Rays win streak also to 8 games on the road, I think all they need is to win about 3 more on the road and they will have a record, you cannot quote me on that though just something that I read in the newspaper today. Until then that is all this drunk maintenance man has to blog about today. I am going to try and keep this place updated daily so hopefully I will see you all here tomorrow.

I can’t believe that Urban Meyer is Leaving Florida!

I was just checking out one of my favorite blogs Tomahawk Nation, and seen that the Head Coach for the Florida Gators Urban Meyer will be retiring from the Florida Gators due to health issues. If you are a Seminole Fan or any one that does not like the Gators like I do, this is great news as this is the point where the Gator program will start to fall. They will remain in the Top 25 next season, due to them still getting great recruiting classes, but I see this as they are falling apart. First they lose their defensive coach, now Urban Meyer Retiring due to health reasons.

As much success as Urban Meyer has had with the Florida Gators, I really cannot believe that this is happening, and he always appeared to be high spirited and in somewhat good shape. I must tell you that hearing the news of Urban Meyer Resigning really came as a shocker to me and I know it must have came as a shocker too all of the Gator fans. Not only that, this is happening the same year that Florida States head coach Bobby Bowden, is also retiring from the Florida State Seminoles. Now maybe without Urban Meyer in the picture the Seminoles will have a better chance of beating the Gators next year, which I think that they would have anyways.

So now the question is who are they going to pick up next as a head coach. Whoever it is you know that they are going to be more than qualified for the position, but this may also hurt the rest of their recruiting efforts. Who knows, this may make some of the recruits change their mind and back out, for Florida State fans, we can only hope that this effects Elam, a top scouted defensive player out of high school to go with his second choice college football team, which was Florida State. That is all the information I have at the moment on Urban Meyer Retiring.

Urban Meyer is Stepping Down, I would have liked to see the Seminoles beat his team next year but I guess it really doesn’t matter, I feel for him and I hope that he gets better. Although I heard a rumor that he is not stepping down due to health reasons now…guess we will find out in the near future, I am sure ESPN will be talking all about it after tonight’s Bowl game between USC and Boston College.

I do not normally get caught up in infomercials that much but if you are like me and watch a lot of television I am sure that you have seen or heard of the P90X workout program. I have also read a lot of success stories and a lot of people that have tried the program that just could not stick it out. So that drew me to ask the question does P90X really work?

I am not able to answer that question as I have just started the program 4 days ago, and this morning I just finished the Yoga part of it, and I was only able to get halfway through the P90X Yoga one as it is the most difficult of the 4 I have tried yet, next week I should be able to get through the whole thing though. If you are someone that has tried some of these workouts then you know that P90XS will get you ripped if you do everything right, but then again you know that these P90X workout routines are anything but easy, they are tough!

That is why I am using this blog to document my progress, or lack of it if I decide to quit, which I hope that I do not. As it is getting close to the new year this is my New Years Resolution to get into shape. Last year my resolution was to quit smoking cigarettes, which I was successful at and have not smoked a single cigarette in the year 2009 and have no intention of ever doing so again. If I can do that I believe that I can complete the 90 Day extreme workout routine and I know that I am going to see results. Every week I will be posting a picture of myself to track my own progress – and right now, I am far from fit as you can tell from the picture below, but that is just more motivation for me to get my fat ass into better shape.

Another thing is I will not be following the P90X Calendar nor will I be following the P90X Nutrition Guide, and let me explain why. The calendar basically says that you will be working out every single day, some days are stretches such as Yoga while some are weight lifting, but I will be working out at least 5 of the 7 every week – and I believe that I will still achieve results. I would do it everyday but my time is very limited as I work 2 jobs and have a 1 year old daughter that I have to watch grow up as I will only get to see her do so once. I will not be following the P90X nutrition plan because I really do not have the money to be buying all that healthy stuff, nor do I have the time to be cooking up healthy meals every night, afternoon and breakfast.

Let’s face it, if I am at publix and I see Tombstone pizzas buy one get one free I am picking them up, I have to eat and I have to save money. So I will be sticking with the exact same eating habits that I have been, which is mostly chicken, fish, and an occasional pizza a couple times a week. Also I love to drink alcohol, and I am not quitting that this new year, that may be a resolution to slow down next year, but I like to have a drink or 2 (or 10) every single night. So yes I know that these are some things that are going to slow down my progress, but I have to enjoy life a little bit too as working 60 plus hours a week and trying to raise a family can drive you insane, not to mention an hour or more of P90X every day on top of that, which really does lower the stress though. So does P90X really work? I will let you know in about 12 weeks when I am done with the program, if I can finish that is.

Before-First-Work-Out

As you can see I am far from fit, not much muscle definition, a huge gut, love handles, man boobs, and a double chin, hopefully all of this will disappear when I am done with the P90X workout program.

Who will it be, we are only a couple of hours away from finding out who the Heisman Trophy winner is and it should be one great show. Being a Seminole fan I must say I just hope that Tim Tebow does not get it again. I do not think that he played as good as he did when he won the Heisman two years ago.

I think that the Heisman trophy winner will be Ndamukong Suh, the defensive tackle from Nebraska. I am not sure the last time a DE won the Heisman, but he sure as hell deserves it. Being that I am also a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, I hope that we will lose the remainder of the games this year just so we got a shot of picking up this Defensive beast. If Suh doesn’t get it, I can see Mark Ingram getting it because of the success that Alabama has had this year, and I think he is one hell of running back.

Toby Gerhart is also in the top favored to win the 2009 Heisman Trophy, but I just do not think that will happen. Some others that are running for it are CJ Spiller, Colt Mccoy, and Tim Tebow. One quarter back that was in the running but did not receive many votes is the quarter back for Boise State Kellen Moore, who has thrown 39 touch down passes to 3 interceptions.

My prediction is that Ndamukong Suh will win the 2009 Hiesman Trophy.

Ya, I am going to miss her. That is the motto of the song. I love fishing to death, never really got into freshwater fishing but fishing is fishing. I can relate to this video, as I am slowly getting into this country music stuff.

I have been saying it since before the beginning of last year of college football, that EJ Manuel is the shit. Everyone was wondering how the Florida State Seminoles were going to be a Wake Forest without there starting quarterback, but what they didn’t know is that E.J. can fucking play and I have been saying it from day one. Mark these words. EJ Manuel will lead FSU to a National Title before he departs to the NFL. I am predicting the Seminoles will get a National Title not next year, but the year after.

I must say that I missed the game between Wake Forest and the Florida States Seminoles due to my daughters birthday but I had TIVO’d it and watched it before the Buccaneers game today (they lost:() FSU’s defense finally stepped up, and even though they did give up 28 points, for them that is a win and they did one hell of a job forcing a couple of turnovers also.

Most of the games that the Florida State Seminoles have played this year the defense has just been as shitty as can be, but it seems like they got thier shit together this week against Florida State. Florida states offense played Ej extremely conservative, from what I remember I do not recall him throwing the ball more than 10 yards down the field. This is something that I am sure will change when they play Maryland next game. Although Maryland is arguably the worst team in the ACC this year, our defense is going to have to show up and play decent. Just decent, that is all that I ask. I am sure that EJ, Jermaine Thomas and all of the other weapons we have on offense will be able to put up more than 40 points on a shitty Maryland defense. The thing is Florida States defense is going to have to get a couple of stops and a couple of turnovers.

On another note Jermaine Thomas has really stepped it up the past four games running for over a hundred yards a game. If FSU has any chance of beating the Florida Gaytors this year it is going to be on Jermaine Thomas running the ball effectively and EJ Manuel throwing the ball down the field and also rushing. The future for Florida State is looking good, really good, just remember, our defense will be better next year. It has to be, as it is almost impossible that it can be worst. Greg Reid is fucking sick, he needs to be in more snaps, and with a new defensive staff, as well as mostly all of our offensive weapons returning next year, FSU is going to be really, really good. I predict they will go 10-2 and finish the season in the top ten.
